Life by the Word

Book Introduction

Introduction

If someone were to ask me what were the most important things that I've learned on my journey with Jesus Christ, I would tell them this.  First, I'd say that every word of God is true.  Second, Jesus knows every thought and motive behind our thoughts.  Third, there is an adversary, Satan, waiting and seeking whom he can deceive, devour and destroy here on earth.  And fourth, I would explain the concept that it is easier to step on a seed than allow that seed to grow, take root and become a large tree.  Anyone who knows the work that is involved in pulling the roots out of the ground realizes the tiresome and exhausting efforts this job allows.

I believe our lives are constantly filled with daily decisions that affect how much pain and work it will take to remove bad decisions and their ramifications (roots) in our earthly travels.

How many times does one look at their existence and say, "If only I would have done this and if only I would have seen it coming, I wouldn't be in the mess I'm in today?"  I guess if we were completely honest with others and ourselves, these thoughts have crossed our hearts and minds way too often.

Even in my own life today, I look at situations with my eyes half-closed sometimes.  Thanking God for his mercy and grace has helped me through these tough times and consequences.

That's why I've decided to write this book.  My mission here is to reveal to you the truths that I have learned and what the good Lord has taught me through my first seven years as a Born-Again Christian.  I hope as you read these topics you'll approach them with a humble heart.  I don't know who will read these chapters to follow, but my prayer is that whoever does gets a better understanding of how important it is for you and me to always be alert to the truths you are about to read.

Writings of a Christian Madman at 40 is about one man's life.  It tells of his pain, joy and wisdom.  It shares with you some tragic days of my existence, and great times of victory that I have had the honor to share.  I pray that you learn from this book and that it saves you many tears and sorrows.  I hope you enjoy it.  May God bless you and may you always walk with peace of Jesus Christ our Great Lord and Savior.
